Online Ways to Promote Your Blog – Part 1 of 5

  •       Create a Widget for Your Blog – Create a widget so bloggers can put your feed on their sidebar.

  • Send Trackbacks – Link  to other blogs and send trackbacks when you mention their articles. It will help get your blog out.

  • Create a Youtube Video – Insert your link in the video at the end and in the description.

  • @Reply – @Reply to all of your twitter followers in a single day! (if you have a ton, spread it out) You will have started conversations all over the twittersphere and people will follow you and join in!

  • Search for Blogs then Comment – Enter a keyword you want to dominate then leave a comment on the top 20.

  • Stumble and Comment – A good approach to getting your name out is to hit your stumble button in your toolbar and then comment on every blog you read.

  • Service Competition – Create a competition and have the prize be a service you will perform.

  • Free Advertising Networks – Free advertising is great for new blogs with low readerships which are looking to build followers.  They have you run an ad for someone, and they have one ran for you.

  • Email Signature – Add your blog’s URL to your signature of every email account you use.  Make sure it draws peoples’ attention.

  • Chamber of Commerce – Get a Link from your Local Chamber of Commerce website.

  • Get added to Online Yellow Pages – It’s a great way to get a link to your blog and the services you provide.

  • Get Links on Local Sites – Become an expert on your niche topic on local sites.

  • Launch an Affiliate Program – If you have got a service or product to sell, set up an affiliate program to build links to your site and build your branding.

  • Craigslist – Create an ad about your products or service on Craigslist.

Promoting Your Blog Offline – Part 4 of 4

This is last part my four part series on ways to promoting your blog offline.  Marketing or promoting your blog offline is important, especially at the beginning to help get the buzz going about your blog.

  • Car/Vehicle Signs – Place signs on your car window, doors back window advertising your blog’s url.  

  • Flyer the Neighborhood – It works for many businesses so see if you can leave a flier on their door

  • Give Out Halloween Candy with URL – Halloween is a big night in many places worldwide so add your url to your door, candy, and any other spooky treats.

  • Do the Lost Wallet Stunt – Make or buy a bunch of very cheap wallets or purses and lose them all around town.  Inside don’t leave anything but a card with your url on it for them to check out.

  • Send Birthday eCards from Your Blog – If your Facebook fans are having a birthday, just send an e-card.

  • Do a YouTube Infommercial –  Create an infomercial for your blog.  Make it edgy and it may go viral.

  • Hire a Blog Consultant – Find out specifically how you can get your blog going and get help from an expert. 

  • Hire a Blog Publicist – Have them take care of your PR for you.  They are expensive though so be careful.

  • Create Bumper stickers – There a millions of drivers so get a bumper sticker for your blog and mail them or sell them to your blog readers.  Everywhere they drive, they will be promoting you.

  • Have a Party – Tell local bloggers, friends, and family that your blog is sponsoring a party with food, drinks or whatever you want. 

  • Advertise on the Radio – It is generally pretty cheap and very easy to set up.

  • Put Your URL on Your Desktop – If you are like me you use your computer outside of your house at school, library or in public. People will see it and may visit your site.

  • Write a Guest Article for Offline Media –Newsletters, magazines, books, newspapers, or any other offline media can help people and do a little self-promoting at.

  • A Public Computer Trick – Change the home page at your library, internet cafe or computer lab to your blog URL. Just make sure not to violate any terms of use.

  • Router Trick – All you have to do is name your wireless router after your blog and try to get your neighbors interested.

  • Business Cards –Hand out a business card whenever your blog comes up or whenever you bring it up in conversation.  

  • Local Meeting – Organize a webmasters and bloggers networking group.

  • Backpack Patch – Get yourself a custom patch with your blog URL to put on your bag or backpack and travel with it everywhere.

  • Flyer Hot-Spots – Leave fliers or posters at hot spots for your niche.

  • Buy a Local Ad – Local ads in newspapers are often cheap and local papers have a circulation of thousands.

  • Display a Talent – Do you draw? Do your make craft? Do you sing songs? Find a way to use your talent to expand your visitors by showing off a talent which promotes your blog.
