Select a Twitter Avatar / Photo that Supports Your Image

Twitter allows subtle customizations that can have a positive or negative impact.

Your Avatar is an important factor, because it appears next to every Tweet you post and also appears on your profile page. If you don’t use the right avatar you are missing an opportunity to show people who you are.  I would recommend using an avatar that supports your brand. If you are the brand then you need to post a photo of you.

The question I want to ask is this.  What does your avatar say about the brand you are trying to build? Does it add to your brand or take away from it?  It may make a difference on whether people take you serious.
